From Alterna to Living Proof: 8 Celebrity Beauty Lines
By Jackie Burns | April 18, 2013When it comes to the “beauty standard” many of us turn to A-list celebs to guide us towards what’s hot and well, what’s not. These famous faces have often times tried every product line out there and so when one of them decides, “I’m going to put my name on this” we can’t help but be interested. Many celebrities (some of the gals here included!) have their own fashion line or even their own fragrance, so it’s no wonder these celebs have chosen to create their own beauty line as well.

Alterna, Katie Holmes
While the luxury haircare brand has been around since 1997 using ingredients like caviar, seasilk, bamboo, and kendi oil to deliver seriously luscious locks (I’m a BIG fan of the Caviar Collection!) recently everyone’s favorite Dawson’s Creek alum (or at least mine) signed on to be co-owner and spokesperson. Katie Holmes says of the brand, “When I first used Alterna, I knew there was something special about their products because of how much healthier, shinier and smoother my hair looked and felt after just one use.” The new Spring 2013 campaign just launched and the photos (and Katie’s hair!) look amazing and we can’t wait to see what’s next from Alterna!

Living Proof, Jennifer Aniston
After debuting the style that launched a thousand scissors (or more!)it’s no wonder Jennifer Aniston is now the co-owner of Living Proof, a haircare brand the blends science with beauty to create “proof in a bottle.” Aniston is known for her effortless and natural style – and has perhaps one of the most enviable manes in America. Jen has said, “Over the years, my hair has been subjected to everything…blow dryers, flatirons, curling irons, color, extensions, you name it. After using these products, I felt like I finally discovered a solution that works every day.”

Meaningful Beauty, Cindy Crawford
When someone says the word supermodel its near impossible not to think of Miss Cindy Crawford. The 47-year-old seems to defy the aging process and she thanks her skin care brand, which she created along with French anti-aging specialist Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh, Meaningful Beauty. So many women swear by this skin care line for all of their anti-aging needs – and I will admit the infomercials played each weekend at 6am are addicting!

Shinto Clinical, Kimora Lee Simmons
Using her Asian grandmother’s secret regimen for luminous skin, Kimora Lee Simmons, model, fashion designer and entrepreneur, partnered with a leading Swiss chemist to formulate Shinto Clinical, a clinically proven line of skincare. Shinto Clinical includes a blend of ancient Asian ingredients like tea leaves and seaweed along with Western bioactive technology to deliver serious results.

Kat Von D Cosmetics, Kat Von D
Created by Kat Von D, tattoo artist, TV star, and owner of High Voltage Tattoo, Kat Von D Cosmetics is a mix of old Hollywood glamor and rock ‘n’ roll. As a fan of this makeup brand I can say whole-heartedly the lipsticks are must-haves for any girl that rocks a red one day and a perfect nude the next. The brand is sold exclusively at Sephora.

Josie Maran Cosmetics, Josie Maran
Josie Maran: supermodel, actress, mother, and founder and CEO of Josie Maran Cosmetics, a company she prides on being good for users and safe for the earth. Every part of Josie Maran Cosmetics is a reflection of her dedication to social and environmental responsibility and her Argan Matchmaker™ Serum Foundation is one of my ultimate faves!
