Currently Craving: Decleor’s Micellar Oil
For years, micellar water has been a go-to for top models and makeup artists to quickly, gently, and effectively remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Micelles are water- and fat-loving molecules that are suspended in a liquid (usually water) that, especially when used as a cleanser, trap impurities and remove toxins. Originally from Paris, the water has the convenience of a makeup wipe plus the cleaning capability of an actual face wash and leave it to a Parisian brand make micellar cleansers even better.
Taking all of the dirt-trapping ability of micelles and combining it with all of the hydrating power of facial oils, Decleor launched its Micellar Oil, a first of its kind. Unlike micellar water, this oil requires water to work properly and the extra step is totally worth it after you see how clear and smooth your skin will be after using the product!
The experts at Decleor created a fantastic spa-like protocol to use the oil which leaves skin moisturized and clear! Take two pumps of the oil into dry hands and gently massage in circular movements over a dry face and neck. This allows the hydrolipid molecules (the surfactants) to attract impurities like dirt and makeup. Next you’ll massage in a bit of water to emulsify. This turns the oil white and the micelle technology form wheels which trap the impurities on the surface of the skin. When rinsed the micelles and the impurities are washed away. The oil is even gentle enough to use on the eye area making it great for hard to remove mascara!
