Currently Craving: The Power of Powder (Cleansers)
Whether it’s their power to perfectly exfoliate and tone or simply because such a little bit goes a long way, I am absolutely “Currently Craving” water-activated, powder-based facial cleansers. After trying out my first one I was totally hooked and had to test more to find the best of the best! Here are my 5 faves below:
BABOR: Cleansing CP Enzyme Cleanser
Packed with vitamin C and enzymes, this gentle exfoliating cleanser from Babor is perfect for using morning and night! Simply put a little bit of the powder in your palm and mix with water to create a foamy lather that still has a fine grain texture to it, massage into your face and neck, and rinse. This cleanser removes dead skin cells and leaves skin radiant and glowing.

AMOREPACIFIC: Treatment Enzyme Peel
Whenever I need to brighten up a dull complexion I reach for this powder-based enzyme peel. AMOREPACIFIC was my first introduction into powder, water-activated skincare products and I instantly fell in love. It’s already pre-measured so you simply have to dip the container over and the exact right amount falls into your palm. The product uses natural papaya enzymes in lieu of harsh chemicals to exfoliate away dead skin and green tea leaf extract to give a healthy dose of antioxidants!

bareMinerals: Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser
A tried-and-true favorite, bareMinerals is always a go-to for me and this powder-based cleanser is no exception. Using the 100% pure ActiveSoil Complex of skin-renewing minerals, this cleanser gently exfoliates away dull cells to reveal smoother, more youthful skin (and smaller pores!). Use as a cleanser morning and night and up to twice a week, leave the cleanser on for 5-10 minutes as an exfoliating mask!

boscia: Tsubaki Oil-Infused Exfoliating Powder
Using the Japanese tradition of mixing grains of adzuki beans and rice bran with water to remove dead skin cells – this gentle exfoliating cleanser dries the traditional grains and bran and coats them with Tsubaki oil, which when mixed with water deeply hydrates and firms the skin. You can use less water to create more of a deeply exfoliating paste and even mix the powder with oil instead of water to get more hydration benefits!

Tatcha: Polished Rice Enzyme Powder
This enzyme powder uses rice bran, papaya, and HADASEI-3 Bioactive Complex (an anti-aging complex of Green Tea, Okinawa Red Algae, and Japanese Rice Bran extracts) and is great for sensitive skin. When mixed with water, the powder creates a paste that can be massaged into the skin for up to one minute (it is recommended to begin with 15 seconds and work up to 60 seconds).
