Currently Craving: Red Lane Spa’s New All-Natural Collection
Ah, the Caribbean…the powdery sand, the gentle roar of crashing waves, and the refreshing breeze that provides comfort from the plentiful sunshine. My island vacation fantasy rushes through my mind in frequent waves—during work meetings, when stuck in traffic, and especially during these excruciating winter months (as I write this, it’s 16° F outside).
So to curb my craving for island time, I instead depend on the newest indulgence I’m craving: Sandals’ Red Lane® Spa’s soon-to-be-released all-natural product line. The collection is segmented into five distinct blends—Island Essence, Fevergrass, Wild Sugar, Sea Breeze, and Spice—where Sandals Resorts are located: Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and, of course, The Bahamas. What does this mean, exactly? For example, the invigorating lemongrass, or Fevergrass, can be found in Jamaica; the fruity guava, green tea, and mango mix in Wild Sugar is reminiscent of eastern Caribbean; the zesty nutmeg, bayberry, and clove Spice blend stems from Grenada, and so on.
Recent travels to Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas afforded me a sneak peek into the rollout of this new all-natural line—lotions, scrubs, oils, candles, bath salts, and more—scheduled to debut this spring. Here’s a quick preview of a few products; part of the Sea Breeze set, they celebrate essences of sea grass, sea moss, and kelp known to the northern Caribbean.
Red Lane Spa Sea Breeze Sea Salt Scrub: I use this sea salt scrub—my absolute favorite item of the collection—in the shower a couple of times a week. The scrub is surprisingly thick and soft, not overly rough, and it makes my skin ultra-smooth (plus, its smell can only be described as mouthwatering, with a luscious scent that lingers long past the shower).
Red Lane Spa Sea Breeze Whipped Body Butter: If I think the scrub is sumptuous, then I can only determine that the whipped body butter makes me want to melt. This lotion has an addictive scent reminiscent of a day at the beach and is made up of organic shea, mango, and aloe butters; organic coconut, sunflower, and rice bran oils; Vitamin E complex; and essences of sea grass, sea moss, and kelp. It’s best applied once warmed in my hands.
Red Lane Spa Sea Breeze Face & Body Hydration Mist: This hydrating mist is an excellent backup for when I’m feeling a bit lazy about slathering on lotion post-shower—a light mist of this, and I’m on my way.
Red Lane Spa Sea Breeze Soy Candle: The rich blend of sea grass, sea moss, and kelp essential oils is apparent in this candle, crafted from 100-percent soy and beeswax. It has a powerful, yet refreshing scent that immediately transports me back to the Caribbean, allowing me to escape the snowy, chilly winter for a bit.
