Primavera: Balancing Clarifying Face Scrub
Primavera has long been one of my very favorites for all-natural skin care and aromatherapy products so it’s no wonder the new Balancing Clarifying Face Scrub (which is perfect for anyone with oily or combination skin) has made it to the top of my list! The scrub uses organic chamomile essential oil (from Primavera’s farm partner in Morocco and Italy) to ease irritation and calm the senses, organic borage seed oil which is rich in Omega-6 essential fatty acids for hydration and elasticity, and sage, green clay, and aloe vera to prevent breakouts. This is a must have to getting rid of dry skin and regulating oil production! $26.00 primaveralife.com

Amala: Intensive Brightening Mask (discontinued)
Amala (like its sister-brand) Primavera is one of the very best. This brand shows that you can indeed have a luxury, all-natural, results-driven product and its newest Brighten collection is no exception. The Intensive Brightening Mask is by far my favorite since I used to be a sun-worshiper and I have the freckles to prove it (or should I say, I had the freckles). This cream mask blends a high concentration of active brightening botanicals with reparative hydrators to eliminate dark spots naturally while conditioning skin. Narcissus (shown) which is harvested in Turkey’s Taurus Mouhas the ability to slow down the synthesis of melanin, the skin pigment that leads to dark spots. Also helps combat the appearance of fine lines. $82.00; amalabeauty.com

Sequoia Beauty: Almond Mineral Exfoliant
Blending local ingredients with organic flowers, herbs, and cold-pressed oils, herbalist and skin care specialist, Laurel Shaffer created Sequoia Beauty. Some of the plants used are grown in her own garden while others are from certified organic farmers in the bay area or wild-harvested throughout California’s hillside. It’s hard to pick a favorite in the Sequoia Beauty line but if I had to it would be the Almond Mineral Exfoliant. A raw and dry exfoliant, this product exfoliates without over-drying the skin and can even be left on and used as a mask (talk about double-duty!). Mix with water in your palm, or mix with a Sequoia Beauty cleanser.
