Thyme-to-Scrub: A Cleansing Scrub from The Lodge at Woodloch
Springtime is the best time for DIY Spa Body Scrubs. Before we hop into our shorter hemlines and our sleeveless tops we need to scrub away all of the dry skin left over from winter. We love this DIY Thyme-to-Scrub recipe from The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, Pennsylvania, for getting rid of dead skin cells and getting ourselves ready for summer! Thyme is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties – which is why its gaining popularity as an at-home acne remedy. In this scrub, the thyme is all about cleansing the skin.
Amanda Clabaugh, Treatments Manager at The Lodge at Woodloch says, “The Thyme to Scrub recipe is a great at-home exfoliant for skin that tends to be a little oily or for a wonderful end-of-summer treatment. Thyme and Sage work wonderfully together in this scrub, having antiseptic and astringent properties, cleansing the skin while the salt sloughs off tired skin cells. The lemon juice assists with hyperpigmentation while the honey naturally binds moisture to the skin. When blended together, these ingredients smooth the skin and uplift the spirit!”
Use this body scrub twice a week in the shower, and remember to always scrub towards your heart and stop if the skin turns pink – it means you’re already smooth enough!
