Fast Facts: What You Need to Know About Osteoporosis
Meaning “porous bone,” osteoporosis is a silent disease which results from losing bone mass, making too little bone, or a combination of both. The bones become weak are susceptible to breaking from minor actions such as tripping or bumping into something. Last month we recognized National Osteoporosis Month and learned that, according to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, nearly 54 million Americans have osteoporosis and low bone mass.
