6 Steps to Your Best Beach Body Ever
By Jackie Burns | June 8, 2012The temps are getting higher and our clothes are getting smaller, which means it’s time to love the skin you’re in and flaunt your best beach body yet! From smoothing to slimming, we’ve got 6 steps for getting your body in tip-top bathing-suit shape!

Step 1: Exfoliate
Dead skin cells are so two seasons ago! Say your last goodbyes to dry skin and toxins with a dry skin brush. My personal favorite is the skin brush by ESPA. Your skin eliminates toxins from the body; when the skin isn’t clear (from dirt, products, dead skin cells) it’s unable to adequately release these toxins. Dry brushing is a one-two punch for exfoliating the skin while simultaneously improving overall health. Daily dry skin brushing can improve skin tone, help reduce cellulite and boost overall cell renewal. Once a day is all it takes for smooth, radiant skin! Skin brush by ESPA $29

Step 2: Hair Removal
This summer dare to go bare. Hair removal is a must for most beach-goers, and we’ve come a long way from a soap and razor! Spas and salons offer waxing, threading and sugaring for a quick fix, and many offer laser hair removal for a more permanent solution. Remove unwanted body and facial hair at home with an epilator. Long gone are the painful coils that pull and tear at the skin and hair, and in is a less painful and more affordable way to rid yourself of embarrassing body hair. The Epilady Legend 4 is a quiet epilator that allows you to remove hair from even the most sensitive of places, with results lasting up to four weeks! Epliady Legend 4; $69.95

Step 3: Exercise
Ladies and gents spend any amount of time on the Pinterest Fitness boards, and you will soon find out that “strong is the new skinny.” While you can’t change your body overnight with exercise, you can start on a path to a stronger, healthier you by starting small. My best advice to anyone who asks how I stay fit is 20 minutes of cardio a day and 100 crunches the second my feet hit the floor in the morning ─ no excuses, ever! There are 1,440 minutes in a day – use 40 of them to get your heart pounding! SpaFinder offers lots of fitness locations that you can visit or join, and we’ve got lots of fun fitness posts right here on ClubSpa to motivate you towards a new you!

Step 4: Slimming Wraps
Need a fast fix for a flat tummy? Detox wraps are a quick and healthy way to lose water weight and fit into your proverbial itty bitty bikini, stat. Many spas offer slimming wraps and treatments, which usually start with you lying on a heated massage table on top of a plastic wrap, followed by a scrub of choice and oil application. Your body is wrapped tightly with the plastic and covered with a heated blanket. I recently had a slimming wrap in Florida, and while the slimming effects weren’t permanent, they were evident. SpaFinder President Susie Ellis told WebMD, “I look at those slimming wraps like a spray tan. It’s temporary, but sometimes temporary is OK.”

Step 5: Juice Cleanse
SpaFinder employees are no stranger to juice cleanses. Take a walk around the office, and you are bound to find at least two people juicing (company fave: Terri’s Vegetarian). Benefits from these liquid detoxes are increased energy, detox of toxins in the body and a loss of water weight, making it another option for fast, flat-belly fixes! Make sure you choose a cleanse that best fits your lifestyle. New cleansers should start with a 3-day cleanse, and if you are anything like me and get dizzy if you don’t eat enough, choose a cleanse that still allows you to consume raw fruits and veggies like the kaeng raeng cleanse. kaeng raeng cleanse; $69.99-149.99

Step 6: Have Fun!
Whether your goal was to lose 10 pounds before the summer and you succeeded or are still on your way there – don’t forget to have fun! The best accessory for every bathing suit is a confident smile!
