How Fit Are You? Could You Pass This Federal Fitness Test?
For the first time in 16 years, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is requiring its agents to pass a fitness assessment, The New York Times reported this spring. The test consists of four exercises separated by short 5 minute breaks: sit ups, push-ups, a sprint, and an endurance run. Do you think you could pass?
One minute of continuous sit-ups – you must lift your torso completely off the floor.
Men:
- Ages 20-29 must complete 38 to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete 35 to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete 29 to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete 24 to pass
Women:
- Ages 20-29 must complete 32 to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete 25 to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete 20 to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete 14 to pass
Continuous push-ups – (no time-limit, no breaks) Toes must be on the floor for men and women.
Men:
- Ages 20-29 must complete 29 to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete 24 to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete 18 to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete 13 to pass
Women:
- Ages 20-29 must complete 15 to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete 11 to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete 9 to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete 5 to pass
300-meter sprint
Men:
- Ages 20-29 must complete in 59 seconds to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete in 58.9 seconds to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete in 72 seconds to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete in 83.2 seconds to pass
Women:
- Ages 20-29 must complete in 71 seconds to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete in 86 seconds to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete in 94 seconds to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete in 113 seconds to pass
1.5-mile endurance run
Men:
- Ages 20-29 must complete in 12:29 minutes to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete in 12:53 minutes to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete in 13:50 minutes to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete in 15:14 minutes to pass
Women:
- Ages 20-29 must complete in 15:05 minutes to pass
- Ages 30-39 must complete in 15:56 minutes to pass
- Ages 40-40 must complete in 17:11 minutes to pass
- Ages 50-59 must complete in 19:10 minutes to pass
