Stay Well Hints From The Founder of Hintd
At Spafinder Wellness 365 we are doing a series of posts on dynamic women in honor of Mother’s Day discovering how they stay well with their kids.
Meet Lucy Danziger, the Founder and CEO of HINTD, (a registry for any occasion, where you can collect, share and shop for anything you like), plus a triathlete, an iron woman, and mother. Lucy shares her zest for athletics and inspires her kids to go go go, squeezing in chats about life in between. This is how she rolls:
“With Julian I just finished the SoBe Miami Triathlon. He beat me! But, we had a great weekend together and it was his second Olympic distance Tri, so it was quite an accomplishment.
“Boys generally won’t talk about big heavy topics but we love to connect over little details like swim workouts in the pool and water temperatures in the ocean (if it gets above 78 they don’t let you wear a wetsuit), and which running sneakers we are loving now.
“My favorite moment in Miami was getting in a little warm up swim before the start at 7 am, right after sunrise, and realizing the water was warm, calm and super clear. The day before had been rough like a washing machine, with current against the swimmers.
“We swam about 10 strokes out toward the first buoy and then swam back in to take our place on the beach with the other triathletes waiting to start, and as we got out of the water Julian looked at me and said: ‘This is going to be fun!’ And it was.
“The nice part about training for a triathlon with my son is sharing an activity that is healthy and fun and brings us together!
“And with Josie, my daughter who is at college, we will jog together or go to Soul Cycle.
“When she was at Taft, a boarding school, she loved showing me her favorite running route, she powered up those hills in Litchfield County – Josie hates competitive racing but loves to beat mom up the hill!! We love being outside and doing our sports together.”
