Breaking Down Your Inner Walls With Yoga.

As we celebrate the new year, we share hopes of what is to come and gratitude for lessons learned which, year by year, form layers around us as a measure of how far we’ve come. In yoga, there are similar layers of awareness called “koshas.” They range from the outermost physical shell to the wisest inner place of intuition. Inside all of them is our highest and brightest self. Each time we think our identity lies solely in one of these layers, we limit our understanding of who we are and deny ourselves opportunities to grow.
So much of the value of the yoga practice comes from using our outer experience on the mat to shed light on what is happening deep within, and allowing that inner knowing to radiate outward. The more we practice, the more we can release the old, constricting patterns of who we know ourselves to be and gain access to the joyful interconnection of our multi-layered selves.
