Funky Sleep Gadgets & Bedtime Accessories to Help You Catch Those Zzzs
Can’t sleep and so over counting sheep? I totally get it—there’s nothing worse than lying in bed, restless, checking your phone or alarm clock and watching the minutes tick by until it’s time to wake up. And while we’ve given you excellent sleep tips, sometimes it’s necessary to get creative. Catch some shuteye with these funky sleep gadgets that put a new spin on getting your Zzzs.
NovaLash’s LASHcloud: Made of 100-percent natural, breathable silk by industry leader in lash extensions NovaLash, this pillowette protects your lashes (whether natural or extensions) and prevents the crushing of skin’s collagen fibers around your eyes via a crescent-shaped design with contoured edges that helps eliminate pillow friction.

bliss glamour gloves (discontinued): Yes, you’re going to bed, and not outside in a snowstorm, but slip on your gloves anyway. We love bliss spa’s bliss glamour gloves, which hydrate hands throughout the night with a self-activating gel lining and olive oil, grape-seed oil, and Vitamin E, so you wake up with soft, supple hands. While you’re at it, spring for the bliss softening socks, too.

Warm Whiskers Eye Pillow: This strange-but-super-cute sleep eye pillow, fused with flax seed, chamomile, and lavender, can be heated to relax or chilled to reduce puffiness and relieve headaches, allowing your “ahhhs,” to turn in to “zzzs” in a snap.

SmartMouth’s 12 Hour Fresh Breath Mouthwash: “Rinse at night and wake up without bad breath.” That’s SmartMouth’s statement, and it backs this up with a patented zinc-ion technology that not only freshens breath, but keeps bad breath from returning for 12 hours.
Prices vary; available at smartmouth.com and other retailers
Dreamcloud Productions’ Nap Star Transformer: This three-piece hand-sewn sleep mask, distinct because of its chin-strap design (rather than the typical strap that fits around the head, a soft pillow is used), provides a three-pronged approach as it blocks both sound and light and acts as a pillow. The patented product is conveniently adjustable, er, transformable, as you can wear it four different ways: with or without the mask, pillow, or chinstrap so you can use it as a sleep mask or simply as a pillow. Jawbone: Gayle King is a fan of the UP device (she recently touted it on the Rachael Ray show), a wristband and app that tracks and displays how many hours and what type of sleep you garnered the night before, how long it took you to fall asleep, light versus deep sleep, and more. $129.99
Bed Tent-Twin: Trust the SkyMall magazine to have an awesomely strange sleep product. I found this item on a flight back to NYC and couldn’t not add this to the list: The Bed Tent-Twin is a waterproof polyester canopy that snugly fits over most twin beds, “from the kids’ room to the dorm room,” and zips on each side (though mesh windows allow for airflow, and an opening is designated for cell phone or laptop cords, etc.). Cute for kids, but we’d nix it on the dorm room, unless you want to get seriously made fun of by your roommate.
