DIY Summer Nail Art with SpaRitual
Okay, true story: I love SpaRitual nail polish and each season’s collection always looks better than the last, which is especially true for this summer’s collection Reflect as well as their limited-release collection Laugh. Between both you’ll get warm sunset-inspired tones perfect for work and fun vibrant glitters that are perfect for play!
“Taking time out to reflect is an important ritual not only for the mind and body, but for the soul. This summer we remain mindful of these benefits and reflect not only on ourselves, but on the effects that our beauty products have on our environment” says SpaRitual founder & CCO, Shel Pink.
The Reflect Collection was inspired by jewel-tones of late summer afternoons and the shimmer of sunlight across the water as the sun sets in the horizon and represents a woman whose soul is at peace with her environment. The colors include Joy, a beige shimmer, Positive Vibe, a orange hue, Kindness a deep orange, Inner Beauty, a copper shimmer, Innocent, a beige cream, and Freedom a rich brown.
For a more whimsical vibe, check out the Laugh Collection, a special edition collection inspired by the lighthearted expression of joy and was designed to encourage us to welcome calm, contentment, and revel in our laughter. The bright hues paired with sparkles and glitter are certain to put a smile on your face and make for an excellent accessory to any bikini. The hues include Optimistic, a white matte, Hug , a deep black-purple cream, HA…HA…, a silver glitter, Giggle, a rainbow glitter, Out Loud, a teal glitter, and Burst, a coral glitter.
Now for the fun stuff! Thanks to Gretchen Jones NYC and Michelle Saunders we’re sharing two great DIY Nail Art Designs for summer!
You’ll need Scotch tape for every nail, a top coat, basecoat, and two nail colors – for these looks they used Kindness and Joy and then Innocence and Inner Joy from the Reflect Collection.
For the first look:
1. Prep nails with 1 coat of SpaRitual TrueBond Primer
2. Bond Nail lacquer to nail with 1 coat of SpaRitual TrueBond Basecoat
3. Apply 2 coats of Kindness and wait for it to dry
4. Adhere a piece of scotch tape on the top of the nail so the corner points down toward the center of nail to create a triangle. Press down firmly.
5. Apply 2 coats of Joy to the rest of the nail that is not covered by tape, you can paint over the scotch tape
6. While Joy is still wet, slowly remove the tape and appears the triangle
7. Finish with SpaRitual TrueBond Top Coat for long lasting wear
For the second look:
1. Prep nails with 1 coat of SpaRitual TrueBond Primer
2. Bond Nail lacquer to nail with 1 coat of SpaRitual TrueBond Basecoat
3. Apply 2 coats of Innocence and wait for it to dry
4. Adhere pieces of tape. Apply the small piece at bottom of nail so the corners point up towards the center. Overlap the other 2 thin strips at the top of nail to create a chevron shape in the center. Press down firmly on edges to create a sharp line. Make sure all of the pointed tops are centered.
5. Paint Inner Beauty over the tape
6. While wet slowly remove the tape to reveal the chevron design
7. Finish with SpaRitual TrueBond Top Coat for long lasting wear
