Mother’s Day 5 Love Languages
In the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, he shares a concept that people respond to the following five drivers in relationships; words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, and receiving gifts.
Words of Affirmation
This Mother’s Day, tell a mom you love how much you love her and admire her. Find specific ways to express how much she means to you, and vocalize these thoughts. Great ways to express those thoughts kick off with, I really like how you make the best meals mom. Your, insert favorite dish, is amazing etc. Moms often do a lot of little things throughout the day to make your life special, keep you well and express how she feels about you. This is a great way to make her feel special too.
Quality Time
Presence is everything. Carve out some time for a meal, a walk outside, potentially a spa break to spend time together. Quality time isn’t just a special occasion, it’s time spent together with meaningful purpose. Whether it’s sharing a hobby you both enjoy or something Mom really loves to do. Consider her first this Mother’s Day.
Physical Touch
Now more than ever, a hug says a lot. Be sure to hold Mom’s hand, hug her often and let her know how precious it is to be in her presence.
Acts of Service
Another way to say I love you is to cook someone’s favorite meal, give her a ride to a friend’s house, read a book together and just do something that will make her life easier. Give her a break from the heavy lifting and make this day all about her.
