New Year, New You: Your 2015 Horoscope
A New Year, a new you? Not always. How many of us made 2015 New Year Resolutions? How many of these resolutions have you kept so far? Let’s face it; changing patterns in our lives is tricky business. We become attached to our life’s patterns and find them downright comfortable. Patterns are like old friends, we feel a great loss when confronted with giving them up and the idea of depriving ourselves of something can send us running into the arms of the very thing we are supposed to leave behind. We do not want to change our lives to grow because we are safe and sound where we are… or are we? One of my spiritual teachers used to say, “growth and comfort don’t come in the same package.” I mostly believe this, but I have a new philosophy. I love the idea of no deprivation at all, none, nada, zilch. This year I challenge you to add things to your resolution list. Add more vegetables, add more walks in the sun, drink more pure water, add more time with friends and family, add communication, add yoga, add body work, add exercise, add truth. Do not take anything away, just crowd out the old with the addition of the new healthy pattern. Here are some hints of things you might find helpful to add throughout the zodiac:
Aries
It’s hard to imagine an Aries adding even more to their busy worlds, but this year is shaping up to be a year like no other. Most importantly for 2015, add the practice of being fully present in each moment. This is the key to an extraordinary year. When you gaze at a sunset, feel it and experience it with every cell in your body. Allow yourself to dig deep and get real about the things in your life that work and those that don’t. Awaken your inner spiritual vision to view your life from a place of wisdom and peace. Seek out those who can share their wisdom with you. Add play for more fun and adventure. Add courage and determination, (easy for most Aries), so you may create the life you want in 2015. Get on it Aries!
Taurus
You earthy and wonderful Taurus folk love to collect beautiful things for your home, adornments for the body, and the latest and greatest cookware, appliances, and cars. This cycle can be perpetual – meaning when you finally have all the things you want, the initial things are wearing out, so it begins again. This year I suggest you add experiences rather than things. Spend your hard earned dollars on a dazzling vacation or a yoga retreat rather than your third designer bag. Add volunteer time to a worthy cause replacing perusing the mall. Add altruism not consumerism. Add love, add sensuality, add nature. Add unconditional love to your family and friends, but most of all add a sense of beauty, peace, and fulfillment, through heightened awareness and longed for experiences.
Gemini
Gemini, often referred to in the Zodiac as the “Winged Messengers from God” – it is now time to get serious about this designation. May I be so bold and suggest that you begin sharing your inner wisdom with the people with whom you share your life and work. Replace gossip and small talk with bold, daring, and real conversations. Grow by leaps and bounds in life by questioning your long held beliefs and fears. Add courage and fearlessness. Add new questions about the meaning of your life. Add spiritual wisdom, discovery, and processes. Have the year of your dreams by adding movement and life to the places within your psyche that are outdated and stagnant.
Cancer
Add adventure in 2015! This is a great year for you to get out of the house and begin to explore your world. Walk or hike more, smile more, love more. Share positive stories with friends, and while you are at it add more friends! Your world has become too small – it’s time to push out the walls and add more life! Have you ever seen a crab scuttle across the sand in its peculiar crab dance? Let that be you this year – add more scuttling and add more dance!
Leo
Leos are the experts at adding things into their lives. For Leos this year I would like to suggest adding more relaxation. No, I don’t mean getting lazy, quite the contrary. Adding more relaxation means adding more time for reflection, meditation, and self-discovery. Leos are always running around, shining for others. This is often motivated from a place of wanting to be everyone’s hero, and sometimes it is done just to get a stroke to the ego. This year, I challenge Leos to add more self-awareness and mindfulness to their active lives, so they waste no time shining their blazing sun for ego fulfillment, instead they shine on all of us simply to make the world a better place.
Virgo
Virgo, I think I know something about you that almost no Virgo (or astrologer) is likely to admit… you are not as organized as everyone thinks you are. So as boring and as counter intuitive as this may sound, I would suggest that you add just a little more organization to your life this year. I suspect that if you have a stack of bills to pay and paperwork left undone in their perfectly tidy little piles, you are not happy. You feel itchy, irritable, and sometimes downright melancholy. I urge you to get organized, pay those bills, resolve your paperwork, tidy up loose ends, and add some stress-free playtime to your life! You can only really begin to have fun when your feel like your work is done – so add a new practice of finishing your daily (or monthly) tasks and begin living a less stressful and more joyful life.
Libra
Balance is what a Libra native seeks, we all know that. But for 2015, Libra has something even higher on their wishlist and that is beauty. Beauty is to a Libra like wind is to a kite, helping them to soar into the spiritual realms and experience bliss. The idea of balance seems like such an earthy concept – but being immersed in beauty is downright divine, direct from the heavenly realms. Fulfillment this year for Libra will depend on this ability to immerse themselves in all things beautiful. Add more art, create art, see art, have others around you make art. Add music, add beautiful sunsets, add beautiful interactions with friends. Add flowers, add bubble baths, add romance… you get the picture! Add all things beautiful.
Scorpio
In 2015 Scorpios have the corner on magic! I keep visualizing these little peek-holes in the fabric of reality opening up and revealing themselves to our lovely Scorpio natives. I wish I knew exactly what was in these mystical openings, but I can’t quite see. Scorpios have a special gift this year of “seeing” the things that elevate our lives from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Their observations and advice will be as precise as a laser. This will facilitate great moments of clarity and growth. Stick close with your Scorpio friends this year if you want life to rise out of the mundane and into the magical. Scorpio, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to add the essence of “heavenly ambrosia” to your every interaction.
Sagittarius
A statement from the great philosopher, Plato “Man, a being in search of meaning” will be your mantra in the year 2015. The search for deeper meaning in your life will come to the forefront this year and you will be challenged to add practices that give it more meaning. Go back to school, or take an interesting class, travel to a place you have never visited. Begin a martial arts practice. Seek out great masters and philosophers and pick their brains! Open your mind, after all Sagitarians are the natural philosophers, and dive into the studies of religion, philosophy, and spirituality. Be a seeker of true spiritual knowledge and you will be on the journey to true liberation and enlightenment. Ahhhh to be a Sag this year…
Capricorn
Whoaaaaaa – slow down Cappy… you sure got off to a speedy start to the New Year. Oh boy when you are running that hard and fast, it sure is hard for anyone else to catch up and how on earth do you stop and smell the roses? Or pet the dog? Or read a book? Oh I see, that was you reading your book at 3:00 am! If you keep up this pace, by June it won’t be pretty. Let’s begin by saying, for the duration of 2015: add more “moments.” Breathe every breath, languish in every conversation, feel every feeling, stand in the sun and feel it penetrate your very core. Add mindfulness, add intention, add simplicity. Remember we are called human beings, not human doings, take a moment and just “be”.
Aquarius
Aquarians are such an interesting native. They set the most lofty of goals, more demanding than any other sign in the zodiac. Unfortunately, this can mean they come crashing down equally as hard when they perceive these goals have not been achieved. 2015 is not one of those years. Look at your resolutions again, dig deeper into the process, and add the steps needed to walk into success. Add a realistic view of yourself and applaud your progress so far. Add compassion and understanding for those around you and save a dose for the most important person in your life, you! Add forgiveness and gentleness, add sweetness and comfort. This could be a year of tremendous growth if you allow yourself a journey out of your comfort zone. Stay awake and open.
Pisces
Piscean energy is like no other. Kindness, compassion, and gentleness seem to ooze out of their very beings. You need some comfort and a kind word, find a Pisces. You need a shoulder to cry on, yes, Pisces are your best bet. With all of these caring qualities they are quick to be taken advantage of as they appear so soft and yielding… 2015 is a year of breaking this illusion! Not that you are not all of those wonderful things – you are, but you are so much more! You are bold, daring, smart, and full of great inspiration. You feel this rising tide and it is making you a bit impatient! Add movement this year, add extreme sports, add a tango class, add a boxing class, get your mojo rising! Turn your attention from any negative self-talk to bringing positive changes into your life. Shift from “poor me” thoughts to “what a difference I make.” You are on the verge of major positive changes, be a force to be reckoned with.
