Whole Foods Market Spa: A New Player
Someone forwarded me the following job opening, which was posted online recently:
“The Southwest Region has an exciting opportunity available for one of the company’s newest concepts – Spa Team Leader. The relocated Forest store in Dallas, Texas will have the first Whole Foods Market spa. We are looking for an experienced, efficient and motivated individual to help develop and lead the new spa and wellness program in the most exciting Whole Foods Market built to date. ”
This was the first time I had heard about this. I would love to get additional information if anyone is “in the know”. I’ve certainly noticed a trend in “non-spa” brands moving into the spa world: Coldwater Creek, Dole, Kohler, Bvlgari, Dove, H.Stern, to name a few. It will be interesting to see how this develops. Running a spa profitably isn’t that easy, especially if you aren’t connected with a hotel or resort, where you have a built-in clientele. But maybe the Whole Foods spa concept has some promise. It’s a great brand that is already associated with health. I just wonder if I would want to spa before, during, or after picking up my organic produce?
