The Vampire Facial Unveiled: Want to Look Like Kim Kardashian?
Ever hear of a Vampire Facial? Well, after a recent episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, you will certainly never forget it! I’m not ashamed to say that I keep up with the Kardashians, that I enjoy watching any variation of the K-Klan take on the East Coast, and that I spend hours trying to figure out what I can do to look like the one and only Kim Kardashian—guilty as charged.
During Kourtney and Kim Take New York, we were given an inside (and pretty intimate) look into one of Kourtney’s beauty rituals when we saw her have an Ayurvedic experience (an oil enema) at Surya Spa in New York. But this season, it’s Kim’s turn to show her take on alternative medicine. During this Sunday’s episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami (9/8c on E!), we’ll get to see one of Kim Kardashian’s beauty secrets unveiled—and we’re here to tell you that it’s a vampy one!
Tune in to watch Kim get a Vampire Facial®, a new procedure we reported on last year after interviewing Dr. Thomas E. Young of Young Medical Spa in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The Vampire Facial or Facelift involves cutting-edge technology, in which your body’s own platelet-rich plasma is applied topically to the skin to give cells a jumpstart. We’re now all aware that Miss Kardashian is expecting (let’s hear it for Baby Kimye!), so I bet you’re wondering if Vampire Facials are safe for mommies-to-be? Completely! Tom O’Brien, CEO of Eclipse Aesthetics (the company that distributes the technology to perform the Vampire Facial), says the treatment is 100-percent organic. “The platelet-rich plasma derived from the patient’s internal biology possesses increased concentrations of one’s own growth factors. These self-derived growth factors are powerful elements aiding in the battle for a more youthful appearance.”
Kim K isn’t the only one who knows blood and beauty (sometimes) go hand-in-hand, and we’re not talking about the notorious Countess Elizabeth Báthory, who was said to bathe in the blood of virgins (ick!).
