Private companies are moving to fill in the gap of products in short supply like hand sanitizer, face masks, surgical masks, face shields, swabs and ventilator equipment. {1}
Tesla and Space X move to manufacture ventilators, GM starts working on ventilators, Endless West, an alcohol brand, shifts to produce hand sanitizers. Nomad, known for smartphone accessories, moves to make medical supplies like face masks. 3M doubles production in the wake of mask shortage as well.

In Texas:
Texas Roadhouse CEO and founder Kent Taylor will give up his pay from March 18-Jan, 2021 so that the money can go to “front-line workers” amid an industry crunch due to restrictions aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, according to Marketwatch.

Among other professional athletes, NFL player J.J. Watt and soccer star Kealia Ohai Watt, who are married, made a donation of $350,000 to the Houston Food Bank, ABC News reported.

Musician Ciara and NFL quarterback Russell Wilson announced last week they will donate 1 million meals to the Seattle food bank Food Lifeline through the charity Feeding America.

Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner launched Save with Stories, an initiative where the two actresses will read children’s books on social media in an effort to raise money for children who may have limited access to food due to school closures. The funds will go to Save the Children and No Kid Hungry
