Think Slow. Move Fast. Make A Better Decision.
In a world where everything is due yesterday, we recommend thinking slow to move fast.
In a recent Fast Company article, “You need to Make Slower Decisions,” here’s how the author delves into thinking things through before making hasty decisions.
Tip 1
Sleep on it.
If you have a decision you’ll have to live with, take 24 hours to mull it over. Time has a way of shedding light on ideas and de-cluttering you of bad ideas too. Hindsight is 20/20 is a saying for a reason.
Tip 2
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes
Failure is the key to success. One either succeeds or learns. Every ‘failure’ can be seen as an opportunity to learn what serves you best.
“Success is most often achieved by those who don’t know that failure is inevitable.” – Coco Chanel
Tip 3
What is your mantra?
Making decisions has a lot to do with the ultimate goal. What is your goal and how does that decision fit into the goal. If it doesn’t what is the purpose of the decision? Try to keep your eye on the end game to make sure you reduce the clout. Develop a mantra and stick to it. Often noise detracts us from our purpose so it’s important to keep reality checks in place. Dreams are important. Chase them by making better decisions the first time around.
