Mii amo Recipe: Mayan Breeze Smoothie
As the year of the Maya nears its end, we were inspired to share this Mayan Breeze Smoothie recipe from Mii amo in Sedona, Arizona. Perfect for a morning beverage or for an afternoon pick-me-up, Mii amo flavors this smoothie with one tablespoon of its own house-made coconut puree, but a bit of canned, unsweetened coconut milk – or ½ teaspoon of pure coconut extract – should do the trick at home.
Mayan Breeze Smoothie (Makes 1 ½ cups, to serve 1)
Ingredients:
1 small ripe banana, cut into pieces
½ cup papaya juice
¼ cup orange juice
¼ cup ice cubes
¼ cup blackberries
2 tbsp unsweetened coconut milk
Instructions:
- In a blender or food processor, combine the banana, papaya juice, orange juice, ice, blackberries and coconut.
- Process until frothy and well-blended, scraping down the sides of the work bowl as needed. Pour into a large chilled glass and serve at once.
