Currently Craving: Vincent Longo’s Day-to-Date-Night Beauty Tricks

We’ve all been there; it’s Friday afternoon, we’re at work, and we’re worried about our Friday night plans because we have no time to get glam! Well, thanks to Vincent Longo, CEO and creative director of Vincent Longo Cosmetics, we’ve got tips that will get you from day-to-date-night in no time! Plus, we’re sharing some products that we’re currently craving for going from office hours to happy hour!
Face
“For the perfect day look, start by prepping the skin with a primer. This will smooth out the texture of the skin and allow the foundation to glide on effortlessly. Then, with a light touch, apply the foundation (like Water Canvas Crème-to-Powder Foundation) to the entire face and neck without forgetting the ears. For a longer-lasting professional look, dust a little loose powder over the foundation,” Longo says.
Eyes
“For the eyes, begin [by] using a pencil liner and trace a line along the upper lashes. From the outer corner, move inward to the inner corner. Then, using a small brush, feather the pencil upward and outward to smooth out any harsh edges. Use a neutral brown shade; this will create the perfect depth right at the base of the lash and give the eyes immediate definition.”
“Then, to open up the eyes, apply a light sweep of highlighter eyeshadow across the entire lid, starting at the inner corner and fanning upward to the arch of the brow. Follow with a light touch of brown in the crease (half-moon) of the eye and blend upward. This will give the eye more depth. Finish with a touch of dark shadow along the outer corner of the lash line to help give dimension (try Trio Eyeshadow in Timeless),” Longo continues. To complete the eyes, curl the lashes with a mini lash curler, making sure to get the outer lashes, then apply mascara.
Lips
“For long-lasting lip color that defines lips without looking too done up, begin with shaping and contouring the lips with a neutral shade. Then, apply one of the new shades of super long-wearing Thinstick Lipstick (like To Love) for a naturally defined, perfect lip.”
From Day to Date Night
Before heading out for the evening, “add a little sparkle to your eyes and re-apply the medium eyeshadow shade into the crease of the eye, along with a layer of a darker shade,” Longo says. “For a soft, smoky effect, use my #33 Flat Eyeshadow Brush to apply the darker shadow to the lower lash line and blend slightly downward. Finish with multiple layers of mascara. The more the merrier!”
