Child’s Play: Spa and Wellness for Kids
Who says the adults should have all the fun? Spas and wellness centers worldwide are incorporating healthier options specifically for children. We call it child’s play.
- The Virgin Active Health Clubs collection boasts nearly 100 clubs in the UK, and children of all ages are welcome with their parents. Childcare services, complete with structured activities, are available, and the club collection features the largest swim school in the UK (the collection currently houses 40 children’s pools alone). There are also kids’ camps, a health and fitness program for 8 year olds to 15 year olds, and more.
- With locations throughout the U.S., FitWize4Kids has been making the media rounds for its mission to help children build healthy lifestyles that balance fitness and nutrition. Programs, which incorporate exercise like circuit training, sports conditioning, and group activities, are available for kids ages five to 15 with the aim of building both self-esteem and stronger bodies.
- Laniwai – A Disney Spa at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, is a family affair that caters to kiddos. Here, say aloha to a Painted Sky Teen Spa with a DIY mixology station, Magical Makeovers for kids, salon services for those as young as five years old, and family massage.
- Mothers and daughters can enjoy some family bonding at Cal-a-Vie Health Spa; this destination near San Diego offers a designated Mom & Teen Week (June 12-19, 2016), as mother-daughter duos can enjoy a seven-night, four-night, or three-night package for two at special rates. (There’s also a Mom & College Daughter Special Week scheduled for July 31-August 7, 2016).
