Fertility Treatments Found at Spas
More and more women with infertility issues are turning to spas for assistance. We’ve rounded up a list of fertility treatment and program options said to potentially help play a role in getting pregnant.
Acupuncture: “Limited but supportive evidence from clinical trials and case series suggests that acupuncture may improve the success rate of in vitro fertilization (IVF),” as well as the quality of life of patients undergoing IVF, research shows—though cautions that more trials are required to better evaluate acupuncture’s effectiveness. Yinstill Reproductive Wellness in Vancouver supports not only acupuncture but Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). “TCM & acupuncture can be a stand-alone option for couples dreaming of starting their family, or an integrated aspect to optimize chances of success with [IVF],” says the wellness clinic, where all doctors are certified fellows of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine. “One full year of treatment with both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine is a fraction of the cost of one cycle of IVF, and the only side effect is improved health.” These spas provide TCM on their menus.
Cryotherapy Chamber: The cryotherapy chamber, found at Hertfordshire, England’s Champneys Tring (Canada’s Sparkling Hill Resort is also renowned for it), set at a temperature of -135 degrees, is said to aid in fertility, along with improving other health conditions.
Fertility Success Program at SHA Wellness Clinic: SHA Wellness Clinic in Alicante, Spain, has partnered with the Reproduction Unit of Clínica Vistahermosa Hospital to bring about “the first program ever which combines Western and Eastern know-how to obtain the highest fertility success rate in the world.” The two-part program includes an initial seven-day preparation stage, an at-home health plan to be executed for two month, and a seven-day stay to complete the treatment. Xaman Ek (South Star Abundance Ritual) at Viceroy Riviera Maya: This Mayan-inspired couple’s experience at Viceroy Riviera Maya, Mexico, comprises a 50-minute couple’s massage utilizing a “love oil” to balance the chakras and restore energy, followed by an herbal bath (inside a tub crafted from a Zapote Tree, no less!) and drinks for the duo that bind both them and “the divinity.”
The Raj Infertility Treatment Program: Fairfield, Iowa’s Raj Health Spa provides guests with a natural approach to not only restore fertility, pregnancy, and women’s reproductive health issues but improve overall wellbeing.
