The Essex Resort & Spa Launches Camp Cook for Kids

Cooking has become a leisurely hobby for many as the food world has taken pop culture by storm, but we know it can still be difficult sometimes to muster up the energy to make dinner. These are the times when you might be thinking, “If only the kids could just cook for us…”

Well, they just might be able to after a visit to The Essex Resort & Spa in Vermont where Camp Cook is underway for 2011. The week-long cooking camp will teach kids about everything from food prep to nutrition, plus there will be time to play in the pool, check out local farms, take part in zip-line adventures and more.

Lunch and snacks are provided, and every child goes home with a book of recipes, and a new chef’s jacket.

When you drop the young aspiring chefs off or pick them up, book a night or two for yourself and indulge in the AAA Four-Diamond resort’s 27,000-square-foot spa!

Classes begin Monday, June 20th and continue through the week of Monday, August 22nd.
The camp costs $375 per week and discounts are available for returning campers and families with two or more campers per session.

Camp activities will take place 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, and is open to children aged 10-14. Beginners welcome! Space is limited, so call 800-727-4295 to reserve a spot.
