Spa Road Trip: Where to Spa in Boston
From the unique boutiques along Newbury in Back Bay and the unbelievably delicious Italian restaurants in North End, to the well-known brick row houses in Beacon Hill and the bar where “everybody knows your name,” the city of Boston, Massachusetts, has something for everyone in each of its vibrant neighborhoods.
As the largest city in New England, Boston is packed with charm, rich history, site-seeing, good food, and of course, great spa experiences. So as a nod to the historic Freedom Trail here’s a virtual trail of the spa variety. Let’s discover some of our faves in Beantown!

Mandarin Oriental Boston
Located in the center of the city, the frequent Readers’ Choice Award winner and Forbes 5 Star Mandarin Oriental Boston is where decadent luxury meets traditional New England charm. Guests have their choice of 136 rooms and 12 suites to rest their heads while staying in Boston. The well-appointed accommodations include soaking tubs, rain showers, and Aromatherapy Associates amenities and the hotel offers visitors easy, walking access to nearby attractions. Guests of the hotel, as well as locals and other visitors can dine at Asana, which offers contemporary American cuisine and overlooks Boylston Street. Likewise, for small plates and a selection of over 100 cocktails, M Bar and Lounge cannot be missed.
The real standout of the hotel is its 16,000-square-foot spa, which focuses on holistic treatments and fostering a true sense of wellbeing. With 9 treatment rooms and 2 couples suites, guests of the spa can enjoy a wide variety of treatments and even pick up a light lunch, smoothie, or fresh juice in the spa cafe. Make sure to arrive 45 minutes before your appointment because the added facilities are amazing – separate male and female heat and water facilities, each with Quartz Crystal steam rooms, vitality pools, experiential showers, ice fountains and relaxation lounges.
