Going Glam at Brazil Bronze Glow Bar for Deal Days

SpaFinder Deal Days, the Wellness Week™ is in full swing and so is my week of experiencing new treatments!  In the spirit of taking full advantage of the awesome savings Deal Days is bringing to my neighborhood and satisfying my inner diva, I decided to go Brazil Bronze Glow Bar for the full celebrity treatment.  I wanted to try their eyelash extensions and their signature spray tan.

We started with the eyelash extensions.  Tiia, my very sweet eyelash extension-ist made me as comfortable as possible, giving me the option to remove my shoes and supporting my neck with a rolled towel.  Based on my natural lash pattern (longer at the outer edge of my lash line and getting shorter toward the inner corner of my eye), Tiia began applying different length lashes individually to the base of my natural lashes. Brazil Bronze uses faux-mink lashes, which while being animal-friendly and more wallet-friendly than authentic mink, still maintain a soft and natural look that some other synthetic lashes lack.

Tiia taped my bottom lashes down with medical tape, separating them from the top lashes so they wouldn’t get glued together. The process was long – it was about an hour and a half before Tiia made her way through the 2-3 layers of lashes made up my top lash line.  By the time she’d reached the inner corner of my eye I was itching to see the results, but even when she was done, I had to keep my eyes closed and patiently wait for the glue to cure.  Then finally, through bleary eyes, I saw them…and they were long! It was just as they said it would be – long and full, as though I had several coats of mascara on! Tiia is truly an artist, these lashes were something else!  My two to three-weeks-from-now self was already jealous of my current wide-eyed, long lashes self!





Next was my spray tan. I chose a light spray, being a first timer, and as I undressed, I eavesdropped, overhearing buzz about weddings and black tie events. Brazil Bronze does not advertise, and all of these women were waiting for a tan that had been recommended to them by word of mouth or fashion and beauty magazines.  I thought to myself, this must be what the Kardashian girls do every day: have their gorgeous false lashes filled in and their tans kept up for all of the fabulous events they attend.

Brazil Bronze’s lovely manager and partner Joy Romano sprayed my tan and educated me about all of the things I had no clue about when it comes to spray tanning.  While they prefer to keep the salon a little on the girly side, they do spray men, and even more surprising to me, they spray plenty of people of all complexions and skin tones since the spray tan won’t just make you darker, it will give anyone’s skin the glow promised in the salon’s name. Joy said she has also sprayed people with various skin conditions, including vitiligo, giving them a customized, even glow.

After my tan had dried, I dressed and stepped out feeling like a star  In total, the treatments tally to be pretty pricey, but it’s such a bargain during Deal Days that it just seems silly not to give it a try!
