Karl Lagerfeld to Make Hotel Design Statement in Monte Carlo

Famed fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld will go from the runway to the hotel industry by fashioning a redesign for the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo.

The collaboration between fashion mogul and the Leading Spas of the World property comprises a makeover of the hotel’s outdoor premises, including the pool, terrace and gardens, along with a new, third Joel Robuchon restaurant. The architectural project is scheduled to debut this summer.

Early reports suggest the design draws upon a fresco-style installation created with 15 glass panels portraying Ulysses’ journey.
