Canyon Ranch SpaClub to debut on the new Seven Seas Explorer ship
Canyon Ranch SpaClub will hit the high seas aboard the newest Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship, christened the Seven Seas Explorer. Guests can enjoy treatments developed by Canyon Ranch in partnership with lifestyle and beauty experts, Red Flower; accompanying the indulgent services include amenities like a treatment foyer with heated loungers, eight treatment rooms, a thermal suite with hot-and-cold experiences, a private outdoor deck with an infinity-edge plunge pool, a full-service salon, and a fitness center. Seven Seas Explorer will set sail July 20, 2016.
Vana Malsi Estate garners LEED Platinum certification
The U.S. Green Building Council awarded Vana Malsi Estate LEED Platinum Certification, making the resort India’s first to achieve this standard. On-property eco-friendly initiatives include preservation of the site’s natural topography; harvesting of rainwater; use of low-emitting adhesives, paints, and composite wood products; and more.
Face Place opens at Rosewood London
Rosewood London’s Sense spa is now home to Face Place, known for its Signature Facial Treatment. The debut marks the Face Place brand’s first location in Europe.
LeDomaine launches new spa, signature oenotherapy menu
Spain’s Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine hotel, positioned in a restored 12th-century abbey and winery, will open El Santuario Spa July 1, 2015. The debut will coincide with a signature treatment menu; highlights include the Abadía Retuerta Signature Spa Journey, a massage celebrating grape-seed extracts, natural grape essences, and aromatic essential oils. As an added touch, the spa—which is being constructed underneath the abbey’s original stables—will host a spa sommelier and spa butlers, along with facilities like four treatment rooms, hydrotherapy pools, outdoor showers, steam baths, and more.
Cal-a-Vie Health Spa introduces Vinothérapie product line, signature treatments
Cal-a-Vie Health Spa’s new Vinothérapie collection comprises natural, paraben-free skin-care products (clay mask, body lotion, body cream, and bath bomb) using extracts from the spa’s harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot grapes. Vinothérapie signature services include the anti-aging Vinothérapie Wrap, Vinothérapie Massage, and Vinothérapie Bath Fizz.
Alice Waters to be honored with ISPA’s Humanitarian Award
The International Spa Association (ISPA) announced it will award Alice Waters the 2015 ISPA Alex Szekely Humanitarian Award at the 25th annual ISPA Conference & Expo (October 19-21, 2015; Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas). Waters is a chef, author, food activist, owner of Chez Panisse, and 40+-year advocate for local, sustainable agriculture.
Six Senses Laamu now hosts Sleep Ambassadors
The resort’s Sleep Ambassadors, or sleep butlers, are on hand to help guide guests through the personalized, brand-wide Six Senses Spas Yogic Sleep Program. Sleep butler Vinod Narayanan has a diploma in Ayurvedic Healthcare Practice and Panchakarma, while Piyada Phongphaet possesses a diploma in Physiology and is certified in Thai, aromatherapy, and Swedish massage.
Equinox to expand with hotel line
The Wall Street Journal reports Equinox fitness clubs will now add hotels to its brand. Projected plans include the launch of a hotel in NYC in 2018 and one in L.A. in 2019.
