Ask Susie: Spas Once Again Among Best Holiday Gifts

 

 

It’s almost Christmas and I thought I would share a Q&A with you that came across my desk this week.

The Early Show was doing a story on the most popular gifts for Christmas this year.  They went to several shopping centers to ask men and women, “What would you most like for Christmas this year?”

The answer surprised them – so many of the women said that what they really, really wanted was a gift certificate to a spa!

Well, of course that answer doesn’t surprise me – or any of us here at SpaFinder – because we know the secret as to why this is always one of “the” most popular gifts each year.  It is one of the only ways most women can enjoy a spa “guilt free.”

What people don’t realize is that many women do not easily spend money on a spa treatment for themselves.

They have a tendency to spend money on the kids, on the husband, on the household, or for something “more practical;” not on a relaxing, therapeutic spa treatment or a beauty service that some might consider indulgent.

So when a spa gift certificate is under the tree, in the stocking, or sent as a surprise via email, the recipient (male or female) feels immediate joy at the idea of this guilt free gift of rejuvenation.

It’s a merry little kernel of wisdom to ponder this holiday.
