Pamper Yourself Pink: Spas Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October marks National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and each year, spas and product companies band together to create treatments and products that give back to this worthy cause. We’ve rounded up some products and places to help pamper yourself pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong
Throughout October, Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong will be showing its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) with a special Tickled Pink Mani“CURE” or a Pink Whisper cocktail at the M bar on the 25th floor. Each guest will also receive a Breast Cancer “Life Token” and prices will include a HKD100 donation to the HKBCF, which will be matched by the hotel.

Provence Wellness Center, New York, New York
Along with its Reiki Master, Lisa Dee, Provence Wellness Center will offer free 20-minute Reiki sessions for a suggested donation to Cancer Care, with 100 percent of proceeds going to the organization. Dee, a breast cancer survivor herself, was helped tremendously by Cancer Care, an organization that offers free, professional support for anyone affected by cancer. The goal is to raise $500. Stillwater Spa, Lake Tahoe, California
Stillwater Spa at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino will be celebrating awareness all month long with pink-themed events. Spa packages will offer two unique relaxation treatments every Thursday during October, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to American Cancer Society’s support for mammogram access.

MacArthur Place Inn, Sonoma, California
During October, MacArthur Place Inn will donate $25 from every 100-minute Rose Garden Signature Treatment to the American Cancer Society. Treatment rooms will be sprinkled with pink rose petals from the Inn’s gardens, and the treatment includes a rose petal bath, rose petal body polish and rose essential oil massage.

The Farm at San Benito, Philippines
The Farm has an Integrative Cancer Care Program that is directed by highly trained and qualified medical specialists. Working with your oncologist, the mission is to best equip the patient with the tools necessary to overcome cancer. A nutritional assessment and an individualized meal plan is designed to reduce side effects, and services include colon hydrotherapy, IV vitamin infusions and ozone therapy, as well as individual counseling and educational classes that teach stress management techniques to combat cancer.

The Peninsula Spa’s Pink Peninsula Ceremony Spa Treatment donates HK400 to support the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, these two Las Vegas spas will offer special pricing on signature treatments from Tuesday, October 2, through Thursday, October 4. Both spas will offer 50-minute massage and facials at their 25-minute prices, with $5 from each treatment booked to be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. To date, Caesars Entertainment and its properties have raised more than $2.4 million for the American Cancer Society.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Acqualina Spa by ESPA is raising funds and awareness with its “Pink Power” Treatment, a 50-minute ESPA Swedish massage and ESPA Pink Hair and Scalp Mud massage. For each treatment purchased the spa will donate $10 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of breast cancer research dedicated to causes, treatment, and the cure. Staff will serve pink floral iced tea and rose-infused cookies as well as proudly wearing pink ribbons on their uniforms.

The Pinking Burj Al Arab campaign to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer starts October 4th. To join in, like Burj Al Arab on Facebook and nominate a price you are prepared to pay for the United Arab Emirate’s first 24-carat rose gold iPad! Be sure to share the photo of the Burj Al Arab lit up in pink with a projection of the pink ribbon on Facebook with your friends and family, “the more you share, the more we are aware.” Other initiatives designed especially for the Pinking Burj Al Arab campaign include Pink Indulgence food and beverage offerings, such as the Pink Tea and the “Bella Rosa” Pink Cake, 50 percent of proceeds will go towards supporting Breast Cancer initiatives.
